A note from the ‘She Is The New Thing' video director, Corin Hardy:
Doing this video for this band was a great opportunity to REALLY let mine and my illustrator David Lupton's crimson creative juices flow. I'd had the idea to do what I'm calling a 'snuff-animation' for sometime & when I heard 'She Is The New Thing' I knew this'd be the track for it - I wanted to torture, torment and murder a band with ink and it was a pleasure to do that for the horrors - It was painstaking work and myself and Dave personally worked into every single one of the 1300 frames needed to make up the video, with ink, gaffa tape, scalpel slashes, staples and wine - 3 weeks with no breaks except for a trip to see Spiderman 3 which only dampened our spirits.. But as expected, Faris & co made for great dead-folk - I'm particularly proud of Coffin's crow-eye-pluck and also when our wolf bites down hard on Joshua... I used a real pigs heart to stand in for Faris's as I couldn't actually get his one out, still beating - if indeed it beats at all…
