THE HEIGHTS play heavy rock'n'roll with a hard kick and killer pop tunes - think Led Zep, Husker Du, The Replacements, Foo Fighters,or even The Strokes with Lemmy singing.'Jamaica Beer Eyes' is all big choruses and strong catchy guitar riffs with a driving beat that leaves you wanting more. And the video? The video features traffic cones, beer, vomit, naughty ally scenes, two llamas and a nod at the crying game…
THE HEIGHTS are Owain Ginsberg (Vocals, Guitar), Chris Carr (bass, vocals), Geraint Owen (drums) and Pearse Macintyre (Guitar).
They hail from Llanberis, North Wales, except Pearse, who is from London. The moment they met, they decided to rent a house together, turning the living room into a rehearsal room. A year's worth of parties and in-house gigs later, eviction. The band now stay where they can - when they're not touring the UK and abroad, causing more of the havoc that seems to follow them wherever they may go.
They have just come back from a US tour where their good time music rocked SXSW, while hanging with The Zutons and The Kooks. They're on tour in the UK from May. Dates follow at the end of this release.
THE HEIGHTS' limited edition debut single 'Long Way Home' led the band to early critical acclaim and spots on MTV Gonzo (which was followed by a Gonzo tour), NME Chart Show, Brand Spanking New, KerrangTV, E4's Freshly Squeezed, The Amp. Having supported the likes of Editors, The Kooks, The Crimea, Stellastarr*, The Morning After Girls, The Charlatans and The Cribs over the last few months, the band are ready to kick things off with 'Jamaica Beer Eyes'.
