"For Real" video links: Windows | Real
"Ear-wreckingly loud guitars, star-humping melodies and vocals that sound like dinosaurs rutting…Its blatantly obvious that the world is a better place by their very existence. God bless The Heights" - James Jam, NME
'Thrilling, visceral Rock and Roll" - ARTROCKER
'Anthemic, riff-righteous rock songs with a snarling, shrugging indifference!' - THE FLY
'An adolescent Tom Waits fronting The Strokes after an evening duetting with Lemmy' -ROCKSOUND
THE HEIGHTS announce their new releases, the 7" and digital single 'For Real' from their upcoming debut album 'Toys and Kings' both out on Best Before Records. 'For Real' is another dirty raucous party anthem with b-side 'Low Drama' completing the release.
The debut album 'Toys and Kings' contains 12 hard hitting tracks and 3 videos for the singles 'Long Way Home', 'Jamaica Beer Eyes' and 'For Real'. The track listing is as follows:
1.Night Relay 2.Jamaica Beer Eyes 3.Low Drama 4.Bad News 5.Help Is On It's Way 6.Fearless In London 7.Sweet Isabelle 8.Kettle Song 9.For Real 10.Raps and Notes 11.Brakelights 12.Morning Rush
"Cut from the same blue-collar cloth as The Replacements, Husker Du or even Led Zeppelin at their most headstrong" (NME), THE HEIGHTS rock hard'n'heavy with killer pop tunes coming on like the Foo Fighters or even The Strokes with Lemmy singing.
THE HEIGHTS feature the deep growl of Owain Ginsberg (vocals, guitar), the astonishing playing of Pearse Macintyre (lead guitar), and the irrepressable rhythm section of Chris Carr (bass) and Geraint Owen (drums). They hail from Llanberis, North Wales, except Pearse, who is from North London. The moment they met, they all decided to rent a house together, turning the living room into a rehearsal room. A year's worth of parties and in-house gigs later, they were evicted. The band now stays where they can - when they're not touring, causing more of the havoc and arrests that seem to follow them. Whilst on a recent US tour their good time music rocked SXSW and CMJ where they became friends with The Zutons and The Kooks and landed in Spin and CMJ magazines.
THE HEIGHTS' debut single led the band to early critical acclaim and spots on MTV Gonzo (followed by the Gonzo tour), NME Chart Show, Brand Spanking New, KerrangTV, E4's Freshly Squeezed, & The Amp. The band has since released single 'Jamaica Beer Eyes' and the 'Bad News' EP. In support of these releases the band have done several headline tours and supported the likes of Editors, The Kooks, The Zutons, The Crimea, Stellastarr*, The Morning After Girls, The Charlatans and The Cribs.
Check the band’s myspace or website for the current list of upcoming festival appearances and tours.
